A Walk Along the River Spey

The lower reaches of the legendary salmon river, the Spey, run through the region as well as other well-known fishing rivers such as the Deveron. On the coast the little erstwhile fishing village are strung out like pearls. Many have sandy beaches, and, as this is reputedly the sunniest area in the Britain, there is every chance that you will be able to enjoy them to the full.

Boat trips are commonly available to view both the coastline and the teeming marine life in these waters, with everything from seals, dolphins and porpoises to the occasional minke whale.

For a touch of culture, Duff House at Banff is an outpost of the National Gallery of Scotland. For those who enjoy a round of golf, there is no lack of excellent links and inland courses to enjoy.
